I recieved my birthday package in the mail from my parents and it was two straights. Even after all these years they still have illusions that I will somehow become skilled with my hands because these are restoration projects.

The first was a Blue Steel Special. I have no idea who makes it. The other side was simply stamped Handmade. This one scared me just unwrapping it. Lots of surface rust so I took some 180 grit paper and knocked it off. No edge left at all. Thankfully I haven't become attached to it so I will try to sell it or trade it to someone looking for a project and hopefully get something useful out of it.

The M.C. Darrow was much more interesting. It was made in Jamestown NY and I grew up in that area. I didn't even know we had razor manufactures:confused1, Not as much surface rust as the other but I still took the sandpaper to it and it cleaned up somewhat. I may still send it out for professional work. I haven't decided. It may be a lousy shaver and I may end up displaying it but the connection to the home area is enough to make me want to try it out once. The scales look like someone spilled some solvent on the plastic in a few spots so it will never be as pretty as most but I still like the connection back to the home place.
