Hi, I have been interested in wet shaving for over a year now and have finally decided to get serious about getting into it. I have been using cartridges sense I started shaving and I am on my last straw with them. I really want to get into using a straight razor, I just don't really know much about them: where to get them, what kind to get, what all accessories do I need, etc.

I have heard this is an extremely informative forum and I hope to learn all I need to to be shaving properly by Christmas

Hey, welcome, I just started doing the DE shave yesterday, and you could not pick a better site for help with that. Many helpful folks to help you join in their addiction!

Welcome aboard! I have shaved with a straightrazor in the past, but the convenience of a DE really makes the straightrazor a special-occasion shave. Try both if you are able, but the DE shave is an excellent way to shave if you have to pick just one.

Welcome to B&B!

We can put you on the right path but keep in mind that learning the ways of wet shaving could take longer than now till Christmas...

I would suggest starting with this page: http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Getting_started_wetshaving
