Like the title says, I'm not sure if I should use clippers to knock back 5 days of growth? I have a thick beard and am wondering if it might help.
Guidance?

A lot depends upon the razor you are using, how long you have been shaving, and how long and thick your beard is. For many people, a five day growth would not require a clipper. If you do use a clipper be careful you don't irritate your skin.

Just go with the razor.

After a 5 day grow I have to use clippers to trim it back. I find a beard trimmer is a bit more gentle compared to hair clippers. If I have to use hair clippers I normally wait to shave for the next day.

I can't be the only person thinking this, but this seems like the wrong way to start DE shaving. Why don't you shave your current way tonight, and begin your DE shaving with only a day or two of growth?

I'll use the clippers tonight then wait til tomorrow or the next day. My skin is sensitive and the beard is thick. Thanks for the input gents.
