I just finished shaving with a newly acquired jar of GFT Coconut Shave Cream. Absolutely fantastic stuff! The smell was superlative and the shave even better.
I have come to realise that GFT is really my brand of choice. Their creams seem to work fantastically with my skin. For a long time GFT Violet was my "go-to" cream and now it looks like I can add another to that very short list.
Finished off with a little QED Da Vinci Water and Proraso Liquid After Shave. Very nice.

To hell with just traveling - it is exceptional at home as well! Seriously though - I REALLY like this stuff, and the POST shave facewash and aftershave/moisturizer which dries down to a powder are superb as well. Well, again, the Moss Scuttle continues to impress: this time, the contrast between warm lather and Proraso's intense eucalyptus cooling was a great addition.
The "punch" came with the application of the Proraso splash. AAAA! :yikes: After my "Home Alone" moment, though, my face felt tingly and, well, invigorated. The shave and my skin have held up wonderfully, and the Dopobarba scent is wonderful and long-lasting, to boot.

I use a very similar bowl, but its about twice that big. I'm surprised you have enough room to make lather in that bowl--maybe mine is too big?

Hey Mitch, I actually just start the lather in that bowl, and work it up on my face. That bowl came with a shaving set that had a much smaller brush. Don't be so quick to throw away your larger bowl, I am definately in the minority for using a small one.

Totally forgot to put on the Thayer's ROSE Witch hazel today. No adverse effects, but I was also messing around a little during the shave. For the hell of it, I tried applying some of this I Coloniali Balm with Mango Kernel Oil after my first pass (no reason whatsoever other than impulse and I love the smell of this stuff). It's got a nice calming scent and a little bit of ZING to it that I like on the skin.
Felt great. The blade just surfed over my skin, already well lathered from the C&E Almond.
Here's to shaving and experimenting on impulse:a17: :shaving: :a17:

*Trip to the Mecca of Shaving in the Southwest for a tutorial in perfecting the lather courtesy of the Lathermeister himself:thumbup1: . Look forward to putting the new skills into action. Was also place into olfactory overload within minutes of arrival:thumbup: . On a serious note, many thanks to Ron and his wife for the SWMBO gift bags at today's COWSBG and SWMBO Luncheon! My wife loved all of the goodies. And must not forget the thanks for the Lathermeister's Shave Mansion Tour and lathering demonstration (available Mon-Fri 8a-5p with all admission proceeds benefiting the newly formed ADA...Acquisition Disorder Anonymous. Who am I kidding, there are no members of ADA because no one here can get to step 1:biggrin: and all the proceeds go to further stocking the Shave Mansion:drool: ).

Mitch,
What do you think of the Charles Tyrwhitt Cream?
It lathers well, and seems to produce an acceptable shave. I was hoping to like the secent more than I do--its pretty light coming out of the tub, and just about vanishes on the face--a bit disappointing.
But at $4 a tub. . .I LOVE IT!!!

You go to the home page and change your "region" to US--as I remember.
