I was at meeting at church last night and another church council member said to me, "Hey I just bought a Merkur because of your Facebook post last month and I am loving shaving with it."
Then our new Assistant Pastor who just moved into the Rectory next door, pipes in, "oh I've been shaving with a double edge for the last twenty years, an old Gillette SS that I inherited from my Dad. So much cheaper and more fun to shave with". He uses a badger brush and some kind of bay rum soap.
This was after another member of the congregation told me a few weeks ago that he shaves "occassionally" with a DE and I turned him on to some Feathers and Astras.
The appeal might be especially strong to Lutherans, who have reputation for being "cheap" ;-).
These guys said they were getting fed up with paying up to $5 for a cartridge and also they both complained of razor burn from a cartridge but not with DE.
So I guess their technique must be good.
Just had to share!!
