I would like to take this time to explain some information that many of you may have overlooked. During your service you more than likely paid into the GI Bill. Even though very little was paid into this you can get a whole lot of benefits. Not only does the GI Bill pay for your schooling, it will also pay for your housing. These rates are based upon the zipcode of the school you choose, the BAH for an E5 w/ dependents is the amount you will receive per month. If you have partially used your MGIB you can convert the remainder into the post 9/11 version.
The amount of schooling that is required is very little - you just need to maintain full time credit hours and depending on your school this can be as little as one class online and one on campus. I attend DeVry and only do two classes at a time and receive my full benefits. So if you are a veteran and in need of some extra cash just remember you are entitled to this if you receive a honorable discharge.
