It has been around a year with a DE and I made a newbie mistake (again). The shave started out bad before I even lathered up to match my day so I pushed it and just dry shaved with the Merkur 23C. Ouch. Second time I have done this. If I searched I could find where I posted if I don't have time to shave properly I don't have time to shave. If I don't even learn from my own mistakes I doubt if I will learn from other people's mistakes.

Cheer up. Just say a few affirmations. Try: "tomorrow I will have the best shave of my life."

Just consider it all part of the learning process. And helps re-enforce to you how important proper lathering is.
It is tempting to try unconventional things like this, nothing wrong with trying.

Pain is a great motivator for learning! :001_tt2:

I'd say you just have a unique learning curve. Repetition!
