Pils Vs Feather SS [Archive]

Thoughts? I am leaning towards the Pils for a few reasons. One, on other boards it does seem to get a lot of praise and many say it is pretty tied with the Feather SS. Two, it looks nicer. Three, it seems more readily available at this point from US Vendors. (I like supporting the US economy rather than Irelands or the UKs plus I am impatient when getting a new toy, lol).

So if you owned or used them, do you see a clear cut winner between the two? The pils looks bulkier but I hear it is very easy to manuever which is one reason why I do not like my Futur at this point. It is impossible to get in the area under the nose with the Futur.

I have both, and out of the two I prefer the looks and build of the Pils, the shave is different but the results are the same pretty much.

I agree with KM-instructor. Both are excellent razors. I probably use the Feather more, but the Pils is more impression to look at. The Pils is bulkier, but it is manageable. I can get BBS with the Pils and a Feather blade in fewer passes, but I can get to BBS with the Feather and a Shark SS with less irritation. I can't say I like one over the other (or my Futur).

I had teh Feather AS and still have the Pils. Both are excellently crafted toys, aehm, mean to say tools. I personally prefer the Pils as it is a touch mre aggressive then the Feather, I require less passes to get to BBS. My shaves are irritation-free with both razors. I really enjoyed the Feather but the Pils just had that little something more for me, especially being more top-heavy compared to the Feather. Both are beautiful to look at, beautiful to hold and beautiful razors.

If you dont like your Futur then dont get the Pils, it's like a sledge hammer, get the Feather, pick them both up look at them with your most critical eye you have then put the Pils down and buy the Feather.
