The frames are all over the place. They proudly display that that they will hold a 5X7 photograph.

That's sorta true. They will hold a true full 5x7 photograph. The frame I bought of course, there's a border of the frame inside the back cover of the frame, thus reducing visible image area. (via) It's a lot like the arguments surrounding the old crt's.

Well, if you don't want your image to be cropped by the frame, so to speak, I was wondering if there was some way to reduce it so that the entire image would be visible through the glass.

I (still) have Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 1.Uh Oh. I would say the encroachment into the photograph is about 1/4 of an inch,/.25 all the way around.

I would like to know how to "shrink"the photograph by .25 on all sides...

Thanks.

Duggo, look at your print options. See if that size is offered with borders and without.

In Elements 3 you would open your photo, go to image>resize>image size and then type in a number one quarter inch smaller in the document box. It should automatically adjust the other dimension (Height or width), and then you save it. Don't know if 1.0 is the same.

Yup. 1 point uh oh is the same.

So, what's the difference between the image size and the document size...

and how do you arrive at say .25 less than the current size? Thank god theres no math required to gain entrance to B&B. Never would have made it.

Make sure you enlarge the canvas BACK to 5X7 or else your overall photo size will be small and won't sit well in the frame. I usually size my photos 1/4 inch less than the frame then go to resize the canvas to 5X7.

Scissors are usually the best option to reduce the physical size.

What!!! You know you were thinking the same thing.
