I sort of jumped headlong into SBAD without considering the strengths of each brush and now I am wondering what I have. Would anyone mind commenting on each of these brushes?

Duke 3 Best
Commodore X3 Best
Vulfix 2233 Super
Vulfix? Grosevenor Boar/Badger

Thanks

The Duke 3 is an excellent all purpose brush. Very dense knot with good backbone and can handle soaps and creams equally well. Also works well with both face and bowl lathering. It is big enough to be comfortable but no so big that you feel like you are using a mop.

The Duke 3 is one of the finest all-rounder brushes available on the market. And this is its real strenght. It's excellent with both soaps and creams, it's great for both face lathering, thanks to its wonderful backbone, and bowl lathering, thanks to its large and confortable handle. In other words the Duke 3 could easily be my "desert island" choice. :thumbup1:

I have had a few Simpson brushes and the one I like the best is the Duke 3.
It's great for just about anything.
I really can't say anything bad about it and I can't say enough good about it.
Marco and Dave are right.

Duke3 is in my top 4-5 favorites. Good density, soft, large enough for anyone but Ken, excellent latherer, and pretty to boot. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a top notch, affordable brush.

Hi Marco, i saw your old thread about Chubby 2 and Duke 3 your absolute favorite brushes.
What the reasons you pick Duke 3 over Chubby 2 as your "desert island" choice brush?
Is the Chubby 2 too big, using up too much product?
Thanks.

The Vulfix 404 Grosvenor is a nice brush with a great handle and is not expensive. I bought it as a travel brush and end up using it a good bit at home as well.

The 404 is the most brush for the buck. Excellent handle mixed knot. Well worth the price and a wonderful addition to any well stocked shave den.
