This is not a Gillette Slim, it is a Gillette Fat Boy (notice the smooth area on the TTO knob), which means that you got an especially good deal-- on eBay, this would probably go for around $100, if not more.

it says E-1 so quarter 1 '59 Fatboy! And discontinued blades????? She showed me some like early GEM single edge but all I had was $25 on me

The Iridiums sell for near fifty cents per blade.

People in the public I guess sometimes don't know what they have, I have a 1966 slim and I knew from the picture she posted it wasn't a slim but a Fatboy, but I wasn't about to educate her and shoot the price up :) I am no longer allowed to buy anymore razors though according to the fiance, but I would like a birthyear super adjustable A1
