Mirror needs cleaning [Archive]

I am using my dad's old mustache comb. It is from the late 70's or early 80's. It is in need of som cleanin...BADLY. Well, the mirror portion at any rate. It looks like there is some gunk inside the mirror, and I have tired the normal mirror cleaners. Please help...

My wife said my mirror needed cleaning too, so I asked her "well, what's stopping you?" Seriously, try some CLR first finished with 50/50 vinegar and water.

Could it be that the silver is peeling off the back?

When buffing with the vinegar try news paper not a dusting towel. Works great for me.

Diet Coke cleans glass/mirrors better than any commercial cleaning product I've ever tried.
