...or maybe it's just beginning. here is what the mailman just delivered:

i have a question about the colonel conk soap. it came with the black marble container 9which was the point of the purchase), but is it supposed to go in there? my plan was to put something else there. i already have one of these CC soaps already and the plastic, flip-lid thing is very handy and easy to clean up after use.

the simpson brush is very interesting. i have not yet seen a knot this dense.

Nice haul, let me know what you think of the Thayers. I am still trying to decide on a witch hazel and both the rose and medicated superhazel look like good options.

You could cut that Conk soap in quarter pieces..put in a small container if you have any..or ziplock bag

The medicated superhazel is fantastic and much better than the original IMO.

Nice score indeed.
I always just used the conk in the package it came in.
I'd put a nicer soap in that container.

I just use Thayer's Witch Hazel aftershave. Just a slight witch hazel scent which dissipates quickly, so it doesn't interfere with the aftershave and/or cologne scent I'm wearing that day.

I also have the Medicated Superhazel. I don't much like it as an aftershave; it seems to leave my face feeling a little tacky/sticky.

good suggestion. that was sort of the plan.

any idea to to get to put in there? ;-)
my faves so far are 3 of the classics: MWF, tabac, cella -- MWF best scent, cella best performance

I don't think the bowl is considered the official Col Conk dish.

The artistry in shaving is in the technique. The soap can be beat up, cut up, kicked around, left uncovered, grated, put in a cheap dish and it doesn't matter one whit.

i recently appear to have destroyed the scent of my tabac (which i imagine some would say is a good thing), by re-milling into an open container.

Congratulations on the nice additions to your shave den.The container is to hold whatever you want it to hold. I am not a proponent of remilling a soap. As some others have said a loss of scent can occurr. If you have had good luck keeping the CC soap in its plastic container, why not continue to do so if you like. The CC soap fits nicely in an Old Spice mug as well.

Doug

i love it! wow. skin reacted immediately and well. scent: orange meets some kind of exotic leather. i felt like an ancient emperor.

the other two big hits were...

- the rover brush: super dense, excellent handling, easy lathering, luxurious face massage.

- personna lab blue blades: upset of the year, feather drops to #2

I'm glad someone figured out how to tame that ungodly overpowering odor of a cheap French bordello.

My Speick stick still has plenty of scent left after being milled.
