Does Musgo Real really clog up razors and brushes? Some say it does, some say it doesn't. There are very few and I mean very few creams that work for me and I want to try Musgo Real but haven't been able to obtain it so far at a good price because the vendors I want to order from because of their other items (blades) charge more than other vendors which don't have the blades I want and they won't match prices.

I have never had this problem with Musgo Real. Never noticed it clogging up my razors or brushes. I think it is a great cream, really enjoy using it. :thumbup1:

How would you compare it to other creams like the three T's or DR harris and how does it work in hard water and with a tough beard?

No problems here. It's a bit thirstier than the other creams you mentioned, but a stellar cream for the price.

I mostly use soaps but love the Musgo Real aftershave so I bought the cream, so I cannot compare it to other creams. Sorry.

I also cannot comment on using it with hard water. My water is so hard that things lather horribly here, so I used cheap bottle water to soak my brush and make my lather.

I've read this rumor about Musgo Real but in my experience the rumor is total BS. The cream performs great, is reasonable in price, makes my face feel good after using it, and has a unique scent that I like quite a bit.

I'm a soap guy but Musgo Real is a great product that will always have a home in my shave den.

I wonder how much some of these crap rumors have hurt companies? Very unfortunate.

I'm a soap guy, too. That said, I love this stuff! I use a straight, and nothing's clogging that. It rinsed out of the brush no different than any soap after the shave. Total BS rumor, probably started by a competitor.

It's a bit thirstier than the other creams you mentioned, but a stellar cream for the price.+1 on MR's thirst factor ... if its clogging up brushes and razors, its probably because the user didnt add enough water. I use 2 to 3 times as much water as I do with any other product, and keep adding water as I go along. As with any other product, let it sit on your face for a minute or two before you apply the razor.

Incidentally, I've found that MR cream gives me better results when I use it brushless. YMMV, of course.

MR is a Lanolin based cream ... some people have a reaction to it, others don't. You can check your own skin's reaction easily by getting a can of Barbasol with the Yellow stripes, around $1 at your local drugstore.

This pretty much sums up my opinion.... (aka +1)

That sounds silly. Even if you use full strength cream with your brush it easily washes clean with a little running water.

No

I used Musgo Real today and it gave me a great shave. As many seem to be saying already you do need to add plenty of water to this. I hadn't used this cream in a while and couldn't figure out what wasn't right about it until I decided to add more water and VOILA!

I've used Musgo. Did it clog my brush? No. But it did tend to leave a white film behind that easily wiped off. My brush has a dark handle so it was easily noticeable. Other creams, without lanolin, don't seem to do this.

As the saying goes, YMMV...

I too am primarily a soap guy, but enjoy Musgo Real and have had no problems what so ever with clogging brushes or razors, including my injector razor.

Does Musgo Real really clog up razors and brushes?

Nope. That never happened to me.

It is likely the combination of your water with the product, try distilled water.

In my experience, clogging has always been user error. Too much product, too little water. Every time it's happened to me, it's been my fault. Due to my water, I tend to use more product to begin with and every now and then I just get the mix wrong. It's usually easily resolved by dunking or rinsing the brush.

Don't have any Musgo Real around at the moment, but I don't remember it clogging up the brush or razor.

I've used Musgo Real for a little while and beleive that it, as well as the Proraso I have used, are a little more...stickey, when rinsing from the brush. This as compared to the soap I also use. Never had any probelms with either and I like both of them. I do agree with the others though, Musgo (and Proraso) can take a bit more water than what you may be used to.

How would you compare it to other creams like the three T's or DR harris and how does it work in hard water and with a tough beard?I have extremely hard water and have no problem lathering musgo. I mostly use soaps but many years ago I used to use palmolive cream and I went through a tube of Omega last year and I've used samples of Vulfix and Cyril Salter. IMO Musgo is superior to all but the salter and at least as good as that one. Love the scent, love the performance, love the way my face feels after a shave. Musgo is thirsty and will be too thick if too dry and so might appear to be "clogging". But go for it. You won't be sorry.

It might clog up a multi-blade razor. That's why gel never worked during the days I used cartridges and disposables. With a single blade that you can remove and clean after any shave, you should be able to use anything.

+2 onMR's thirst factor. It took me awhile to get the correct amount of water. But the cream is good. However, there are several better(but more $)on the market.

It does leave a bit more of a film than other brands, but it cleans up well enough. You should be cleaning your razor and brush periodically anyway.

I didn't know creams have classifications such as "full strength"

That sounds silly. Even if you use full strength cream with your brush it easily washes clean with a little running water.
