View Full Version : Removing soap from one container so I can put some Cella in.

I just picked up a brick of Cella:001_smile. I have decided that it is going to be my everyday soap now. My question is how do I remove some soap from a Mamma Bear soap container and use it for the Cella? I think I saw a post in the past and I can't seem to be able to find it. Or, does anyone know where I can order an air-tight container for the Cella?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that particular bowl, but maybe run a butter knife around the edge loosening it from the bowl, it should be easy to pop out after that.

I use a Taylor cream container for my Cella. Empty cream containers come in handy.

If you freeze the mama bears soap it should just pop right out. Alternatively, http://www.queencharlottesoaps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=51&zenid=74f68b1e538e80fe30c89c73125e993b has some empty tubs.

Carefully melt MB in microwave on lowest power setting, 5-10 second bursts, pour into another container. Alternative is to order 9 tubs from Sunburst bottles online. Identical to MB tubs for 75 cents each plus shipping. Each will hold 4 oz of Cella. A 1 qt plastic soup comtainet from a take out place will hold the entire brick.

Mama Bear used to sell these tubs, so get some spares?

+1. Shouldn't be that hard to do.

Microwave or freeze, both will work but I know the vendor will recommend the freezing method.
Cella is nice. I wish I could narrow down to one or two.

Great idea! I had a mostly used puck of Col. Conk's bay rum that I broke up, put in a small container (8 for a buck at Dollar Tree), introduced to the microwave then into the refrigerator to cool down. I now have a perfect travel soap that I can afford to lose!

with the glycerin soaps/Mama Bears..pop it in the freezer for i dont know prb no longer than 45-1hr (keep checking on time and keep in there as long as needed, but keep checking) then it should pop right out.

make sure you do not leave it in too long...trust me on this..i left some glycerin soap in the freezer over night by accident..needless to say it didnt just pop right out..it was frozen to the sides.

When transferring from plastic tub to wooden bowl, MB herself says she freezes them overnight. Then, she says she just WHACKS 'em on a countertop, and the soap just pops out. That's what she says, anyway.

Wasn't that from The Sopranos?

If you're using Cella regularly, you don't need an airtight container. It'll keep just fine as long as it's not neglected for a few days.

Freeze it or melt it...that is all.

Go to kfc, their side dish containers are reusable and dishwasher safe. Enjoy some slaw and have a place for soap. Got some arko in one now, works great.
