I just thought I'd pass along this technique since I haven't seen it posted. I facelather at least 5 days a week. Oftentimes, I need to hydrate my lather as I'm building it on my face. The techniques I've seen mentioned to do this are to dip your tips in water or dribble some drops into your brush.
The last few days, I've been running my brush quickly under the faucet stream. I run it near the base of the brush, not the tips. Then I give a gentle downward plunge like I do when I shake out my brush after soaking. I take it back to my face and start building away.
I've found that this hydrates my lather just as well as the other techniques, but it also helps to push the lather out to the tips of the brush where it's usable. I have a much easier time getting to that great lather that used to just sit near the base and would only get to the tips by physically squeezing the brush.
Anyway, try it out, it might work for you too.
