View Full Version : Type of Point?
I was wondering which type of point (tip shape) do you prefer on your straight razor and why?
(I'm not sure if I got the terminology correct, but it is from the ShaveWiki on razor features)

I like square and French. They are better for edging a goatee. Spike may be a bit too much :crying:.

If I had my way, they'd all be spike points.

I prefer a spike point, and I don't have any facial hair to trim around. I think I would enjoy a French Point, because it would be easier to maneuver around my nose and such.

I was all about the round when starting out. Now I much prefer the spike. It makes detail work (goatee, sideburns, etc.) so much easier.

I'm new so I prefer the rounded points. Less chance to bleed

French points are very sexy, and barbers notches look cool too. But they're all good!
French points are my favourite, Round and square are excellent too! I got a few barber notch and a spike...

I'm used to round or french points. Spanish points/barber-notch razors interest me though. I dunno if I'm brave enough to try a square/spike point yet...

They all work fine, but I'm fond of barber's notches, especially on the old Sheffields.
