I have used both items about 5-6 times and both are in pristine condition.
Payment via Paypal only.
International shipping is Airmail from Australia which usually takes about 10days. There is no tracking available for this postage method.

I'm thinking that for 100 USD I can buy the razor brand new and not have to pay the shipping rates from Australia. I maybe wrong..............JR

The Mergress is a custom modified razor and from Lee's Razors it is $104.95
Not to mention that these are out of stock and normally sell out very quickly.
I think $100 shipped from Australia is very fair. The razor looks to be in great shape.

It is a very nice razor but need funds as I am getting into straights. It cost me about US$ 140 shipped, so am not making any profit just to clarify.

Not to mention that these are out of stock and normally sell out very quickly.
I think $100 shipped from Australia is very fair. The razor looks to be in great shape.
Going by the insane shipping rates nowadays I think 100 spondoolicks is more than fair.

That is my point.........for only 5 USD more you get a new one. If it cost a 140 dollars new in Australia I for one would be all over it, I'm just saying the obvious. Not that good in the USA...JR

Your actual statement was that for $100 you can get the razor brand new, implying that the seller was trying to make money off of it and charging more than he paid for it. Maybe that is not what you meant to imply. But you cannot get the razor brand new for $100.

OK If that is how it sounded I'm sorry.I didn't mean it to sound like I thought he was making a profit. And by the way there is nothing wrong with anybody making a profit, I was just saying that for the US market I thought he was not going to sell it at that price. But to someone who is looking at 140 for a new one, it's excellent. Sorry for the confusion................JR

He's probably more interested in selling it to another member in Australia. Just like most members in the US are more interested in selling to other members in the US.

Anyways....... That is a very Nice Razor, and an Great Performing Brush.. Good luck with selling it..
not sure if its a fake or not, but I remember walking through Canal street in NYC and seeing tons of counterfiet merkur stuff years ago. really shocked me.
The Mergress XL is a Merkur Progress that is modified, and highly regarded, not a fake by any stretch. "Reefer" is the opening posters username.

WOW...did not know that this FS thread would be cause for so much discussion. As pointed out earlier by "orchestrion" the razor would be a great bargain for Australian members, I did not want to leave out International members so added $5 for extra shipping although it would probably cost me more.
As far the razor being "FAKE", I have the receipts from Lee's Safety Razors and don't have the equipment, inclination or time to make a fake Mergress and list it on BST.

Please, ignore all the needless/useless critisism, there seems to be a lot of it lately, but it's no excuse.
doing the conversion, it comes out to $98cdn shipped, which if it were in stock at Lee's, is less then he would charge ($105+$13shipping+taxes?), so i say it's a decent deal for anyone wanting a Mergress right now.
