So earlier today I posted a thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/238255-I-have-the-most-amazing-wife....-EVER!?p=3249858#post3249858) about how attentive and amazing my wife is. Then it got me to thinking she did another thing recently that rates quite high on the most amazing wife ever list.

Recently, I was browsing a FaceBook group that both the Mrs. and I belong to. A mutual friend commented that their Boxer was getting ready to have Puppies and they were interested in giving them away (they aren't permitted to breed/sell for profit where they live) and wondered who might be interested. I asked if they were pure bred to which they responded that not only were they pure breed but both Dam and Sire were from Championship Lines and cost them $2K each. I left it at that, never intending to ask the Mrs. if she'd like to get a pup because in our 3+ years living in Japan she has been adamant about not getting a pup while we are in Japan. She didn't want to deal with training and then worry about moving to our next location in a few years.

About an hour after I posted my last question on the forum my iPhone rings. I see its my wife and say, what's up babe? She responds with, "We can't have just one, contact them and see if we can get two." I said, two what? She said, "I know Boxers are your favorite breed and we have an opportunity to get $4K+ worth of dogs nearly for free. I don't want to miss that opportunity."

So, mid August, two of these little buggers (1 male/1 female) will be coming home to us:

That is precisely why they are my favorite breed. I used to have a pair (years ago) that were lost in a bitter divorce. They were fantastic dogs and I've missed having them around for years.

Congratulations on your nice new puppies. And even more so for having a wife that's in tune with you like that.

That's the part I cherish. We read and no one another so well. Been together nearly 7 years and still haven't had an argument.

Indeed, congratulations on the puppies. Those are beautiful! And what a great gift to get such nice dogs for free.

I agree, having a wife that is in tune with what you like and encourages it is a wonderful thing.

You are a lucky man. You are probably doing this but make sure you show her how wonderful she is... and often.

Congratulations on the Boxers. They are now my favorite breed. This is a quote that I found that fits them quite well.

“ The character of the Boxer is of the greatest importance and demands the most solicitous attention. It is renowned from olden times for its great love and faithfulness to its master and household. It is harmless in the family, but distrustful of strangers, bright and friendly of temperament at play, but brave and determined when aroused. Its intelligence and willing tractability, its modesty, and cleanliness make it a highly desirable family dog and cheerful companion. It is the soul of honesty and loyalty, and is never false or treacherous even in its old age. ”

These are our actual pups:

Yes we did everything recommended (washing hands, anti-bacterial, etc.) prior to my wife very briefly holding them. Male on the left, female on the right. We still don't have names picked out. Any clever suggestions?

Really cute little pups. I strongly recommend against naming them Simpson and Rooney. Your wife might think you're raising them to harvest their hair for a new brush.

You're wife is smart for suggesting two pups. They'll be best friends for life.
