I just wanted to say that I got my razor pack today and thanks once again for taking all this effort. I'm a little worried that the blade I will like the most is the hardest to find. :blushing: But it will give me something to do to find them. :biggrin:

The old page on my personal site was just not cutting it anymore. Now I have a real store-front and shopping cart which should make the entire process easier for both you and me. I still need to do some work on the template, but it should all be functioning as it should. Email or PM me if you find an error.

The prices have looked like they changed, but should be the same at checkout. I moved the cost of the packaging material to the cost of the pack instead of shipping.

By popular request, I added to the site (http://westcoastshaving.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4&zenid=d9b44002d04ff3625fe369e1e8f38286) single packs of Swedish Gillettes and UK made Wilkinson Sword blades today. It seems many of you have tried all the main blades except for these two. Instead of buying a full pack, now you can try these two blades individually. I hope that helps!

Ordered the extended sampler pack on the 9th of August and got it today... That is 11 days for USA to Sweden with first class mail international, which I consider fast (especially since it often takes that long for mail from mainland Europe to get to me). Thanks for the great service John!

Unfortunately due to the current Feather situation, I've had to slightly increase the prices of the packs to cover my cost increases. I've also made a few changes. The Standard pack (previously called Small) now has 10 Merkur blades instead of 5. Also, there is a new economy pack for those of you looking to try the more attractively priced blades.

I ordered a Sampler Pack on November 13 and due to various factors (American Thanksgiving, Snow Storms in Eastern Canada and Canada Post) I just received it yesterday. Throughout the wait LetteK was a pleasure to deal with and a quick communicator. He was even willing to resend another package in case the first was lost for good.

I am excited to work my way through the blades and would not hesitate in telling others to do business with west coast shaving.

Thanks again for putting forth this option. Some time ago I purchased a sampler that included Merkurs, IP, Derby's, Swedish Gillettes, and feathers, which I found to be extremely helpful.

I just recently purchased and received the economy pack. I already knew I liked the Derby's, but it was nice to get an opportunity to try out the Dorco's Wilkinson's and Crystal's. Super stuff all around.

If not can you tell me if you send these in an envelope or a box.If the package is thick enough like in the case of a box it will be kept at the post office and I will receive it from there.

I looked into it and I believe it's because some of the images are pointing to http:// instead of https:// . There's not security risk, but it might be annoying to someone to get the error. I'll look into fixing it the next time I update the templates.

:biggrin: Shipping to Canada is always a gamble when it comes to shipping times. I've had things get there in 2 days up to 2 weeks. The good news is the packages almost always arrive safely.

sorry if this question has been asked already - but what is the best pack for a newb? I was thinking the 'extended' pack since it offers the most variety of blades, but then again I tend to go for more than I really need for most things. I'll be picking up my first DE soon, so just looking for some advice here - thanks!

The question is how much do you want to experiment right off the bat? The extended pack gives you the most variety, but the the standard pack is comprised of the most popular brands. Those two packs sell the most, and it's about an even split.

I ordered a large last night on the web site and threw in a pack of Wilkerson blades. I used to shave with Wilkerson in the late sixties when I was in High School and liked them a lot. Thanks for the effort you put forward to assemble these variety packs.

I've been dieing to get home every day to see if my sample pack has arrived, and today was the day. If it wasn't for Canadian customs I'd be even happier, but I guess 2 weeks isn't all that long to wait. Now if only I could have saved all the beard from those two weeks to practice with...

I ordered the Choice sampler from your website and they arrived today. Looks good and can't wait to try a Derby out tomorrow. I bought this sampler because I already have a 10 pack of the Merkur and do not like them. I know I like the Gillettes but am hoping that something cheaper works as well for me.

The West Coast Shaving FAQ (http://westcoastshaving.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=1&zenid=0d90020dd27324e344f4e042803f007e) lists the following order to try blades:

Dorco
Merkur
Derby/Crystal
Red Pack Israeli
Swedish Gillette/Wilkinson Sword (UK)
Feather

The extended pack I just got includes the Swedish-equivalent UK Gillette blades and a pack of BIC Chrome Platinum blades (made in Greece). It's easy enough to figure out when to try the Gillettes, but I presume that'd be a FAQ for people who don't read B&B. Where do the BIC blades fit in the rotation, though?
