Gentlemen,
I have a Gillette knack in my collection. Its seems the plating under the base plate g has been peeling off and brass is showing up.
So can anybody give me some tips in preserving the Razor in good condition
Thank you

Don't ever touch it...in fact you may have to put it into cryo stasis chamber. Once the plating is going, it's going and going to go...sorry. You could get it replated or just use it at is. Does not hurt anything.

There is not much you can do when this process starts. Nothing wrong with using the razor while the plating is going, it does not degrade performance just cosmetics. If you really like it a lot than get it replated.

Is there any health issue relating to it?
Once the plating is gone the brass will get green by oxidation I presume???

You can stall the process with clear nail polish. Only where, and overlapping the area adjacent to, the plating is deteriorating.
It will eventually get worse and turn green over time if you do nothing. A little polish will smooth out the edges and remove any green smut.
Then coat it with a little clear acrylic or enamel nail polish. If you have a woman in the house, you can probably borrow and replace the bottle without incident.

No, nothing to be worried about there.

Green actually takes quite a while of sitting more or less undisturbed to develop. If you're using it fairly regularly it'll just go dark between cleanings. Any polish like Maas or Flitz will leave a protective coating that will slow the tarnishing, but honestly you don't need to think that much about it. If the brassing were an area that you came into contact with while shaving you probably wouldn't even need to polish it. I've got a good number of user grade razors that are partly brassed on the heads or guard combs, and the brass stays bright and shiny as long as I use them occasionally.
