For some time now I've been looking for a holder for the Kai and the Feather Japanese style straight razors. Something that would look nice on the counter yet provide for safety of the exposed blade. Something made from wood, plastic, metal, etc., it really doesn't matter.

Do any of our members know of such a holder? I'm looking for one that would hold 3 Japanese straights. I'd love to be able to have them out and ready for use instead if put away in a drawer.

I'd like to suggest you go a step further and get something made out if tooled leather that you'd wear on your belt like a holster. That way you'd never be without your beloved straights, and would be ready for a shave as soon as you felt some stubble rearing it's ugly head!

I've got my straights lined up along the inside edge of a vintage Old Spice mug.

These mugs were large and mine is very attractive on the bathroom countertop.

I don't know how many straight razors I can display this way.

I'm at 6 and counting.

I already have my own utility type belt that I wear daily. I keep several types of straights in it along with a couple tucked into my shoe. I've been known to slice off an ear if someone gets out of line. :cursing:  :001_tt2:

I struggle with the same issue, sometimes I think a small low profile drawer might work out, as opposed to a cigar style case I use as secondary storage (drawer being better in that other stuff could remain on top of the case.)

Wonder if spindlecone could be engaged. I made note of an earlier thread where he posted some nice looking stands he made and was considering sending a PM myself :001_smile or else try to make something similar to leave my currently used razor near the sink. Thread was called: Japanese Razor Stand (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/182346-Japanese-Razor-Stand)

This stand on the bladeforums may also fit your needs: A Couple New Fixed Straights (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/756921-A-Couple-New-Fixed-Straights)

Your question got me thinking, so I made this from cork tiles you find at Walmart for bulletin boards, a scrap piece of plexi, and some contact cement. If you get fancy, every piece could be cut from wood too. You could make three head holder things and glue them together side by side for a 3 razor holder.
