Gillette DE Razor Model, Date?

hey there,
Found this razor while cleaning at my grans place. Its a Gilette.
Cant really make out the patent no. think its 3528537-E03892 its made in England.
Wondering should I clean it up and give it a go. bit rusty on the blade holder.

Would like to know the model and its date.

Looks like a ball end Tech. Should clean up beautifully. I have a British Coronation Tech - it is a great shaving razor.

ok i see just found it yesterday.New to DE shaving, was looking for a Tech/ Superspeed on ebay, but ordered a Merkur HD,came yesterday!. Just after cleaning it up now going to soak it in baby oil. Should I do the same with the merkur before use?
Looking at the gilette seems to have a bigger bite (gap between blade) than the merkur. The tech is suppost to be a good beginners razor, not agressive right

The soak in oil isn't really necessary for razors that aren't twist-to-open styles.
Won't hurt anything though.
You have 2 great razors to get started w/ DE shaving
