I feel like I should be wearing a tracking device and ordered to stay at least one mile from any school.
Where the heck can I change this?
What do you want it changed to? It's a generic title that will change as your posts increase.

What does it change to? Hyper Ex-Lurker? Or former Ex-Lurker?

Could be worse. Could say "Still wet behind the ears"...
Most forums have titles like that. Some forums allow one to change it to a custom title, others don't. Personally I don't think it's a big deal.
And a "lurker" in the forum world is one who doesn't post, just hangs around reading what others have posted. Now that you have posted in the forums, you are, in effect, an "Ex-Lurker", along with everyone else...

But I still would like to be known as the Skin Surfacin' Fool!!!
Your title will change as your post count increases. Custom titles are bestowed at the discretion (capricious whim, actually) of the mods, usually to someone who posted something that they later regretted.

Jay will I ever be deemed worthy of a custom title by one of the mods?
Oooh look I just cleared the 600 hurdle at some point! Cool!

Here's the thing, you can't just ask for it. It usually happens when you're least expecting it. As Jay said, saying something stupid usually gets our creative juices flowing.

I've been stuck with the same title for months now. I'm quite bored of it. I used to be amused by my latest title of honour. One day a mod might take pity on me and let me choose a custom mod (It'd be "Leo's dad", hint hint!)

One's first reaction is often times the correct one. While the tracking device may require some work to obtain, it should be fairly easy to avoid schools.

Begging is most assuredly frowned upon, but bribery.........:001_tt1:

But until I get some more posts it would probably be Ex-Stalker. Maybe I'm just too sensitive. I always felt that Vincent van Gogh, Montgomery Clift and Me were just too beautiful for this world. Of course, poor Vincent's ear thing was a bit much. Some biographers now claim he was actually trying out a Caswell-Massey cream.
If you were willing to cut off your ear, perhaps that would influence the mods favorably.
Personally, I'd stick with just posting.

What if I instead ritually sacrificed a chicken to the mods while reciting lines from King Lear?
No, I'll just say something stupid!

One of the more frequent reasons custom titles are bestowed.

Then to the JohnCleese.com (http://www.thejohncleese.com/) you go. Get thyself a knighthood, and quickly too. Today, his Grace, the Minister of Silly Walks, bestowed with me with the title "Diedre Penhalligon F.S. and Bar".

All I wanted to know is how to shake this Ex-lurker thing. Anyway, as most Skin Surfers do, I'll just ride my puppet lines into the sunset.
And thanks for the input, seriously.

To get rid of the "ex-lurker" thing, simply post 1 or 2 more messages (minimum of 10 total), and it will automatically change to something else... next change will be at 25 I think and so on and so on and so on...
Welcome to B&B BTW!
