Well it's been awhile since I've posted last, been busy, but have had plenty of time for good shaves. I've since gotten accustomed to the new way of shaving and I'm getting fantastic results with no razor burn most days. So on Father's day my wife and kids took me to Crabtree and Evelyn to pick up some stuff. It's what I've been using since.

The set up for this week for me is:

Olive oil soap, brand unknown, for a pre-shave
Gillette open comb tech style.
Personna blade
Kiehl's brushless shave cream
Dickinson's witch hazel
Euphoria ASB
SCS Oakmoss Lavendula EDT.

I got the razor off of ebay for about $6.00. I think it is a Tech style with an open comb, and it is mostly gold plated. Some of it has worn off from use. Whatever the model, it shaves every well. It is now around 4:30 pm and I can feel no stubble whatsoever. Really pleased with the performance of it.

Decided that I would give the QED tub another whirl this morning. A close shave, and the lather was good for the first two passes, but by the third pass, the lather was starting to fade away. A much better lather than what I've gotten in the past, but still not completely satisfying.

*I'm totally sold on corking. I was going to toss the Swede but I figured what the heck, I'll see what this corking business is all about. My findings? The blade on day 3 after being corked shaved better than it did brand new! I'm a believer.

I still can't find a razor that works well with the Tesco blade for me. The weird thing is that I always get a GREAT resulting shave, but the experience is close to torture. YMMV and all that.

The Harris Almond is somewhat new, but a fantastic performer. Love it.

Nice score! haven't seen anything of theirs in a while. That's why I pulled it out.

I was (and still am) a big fan of Bloodrock. Saw them 3 times in concert in Houston 68 -70. I have every one of their albums (which I believe is 5), though the first is a little ragged now days. :lol:

Sandalwood is good if properly mixed with other scents, as a stand alone, I agree meh.

It is for me and I don't appear to be allergic too it either which is a big plus! :biggrin: Will have to wait for winter to see if it really works for dry skin (Swedish winters are cold with extremely dry air).

Yeah, winter is super harsh here in Montreal as well ; I generally switch to Coppertone SPF 15 as a face lotion (it's a sunscreen with moisturizers, but I use it as a face lotion ; awesome in winter, has Jojoba oil)

This was my second attempt with the slant, and it went well overall. I do have a fair amount of irritation on my neck, but that is mainly from my attempts to use the slant to touch up some rough spots.
