St. Peter's English Ale.... one of my favorites. Washed down some some deep deep dish pizza with it for lunch  School today will be a little less "boring"

Hey Joel,
They brew that great stuff a few miles from where my folks live in Norfolk, UK (Bungay if I recall is where it's brewed). As I spent all of my youth growing up there I am very familiar with what constitutes good ale. Have you tried Adnams?

No sir - I have not, but I'll add it to my "To-Drink" list

Joel / Kyle, if you like white beer then I strongly urge you to get your hands on some of this if you haven't already tried it!

Hoegaarden (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=14148&postcount=9) was my IOTN 2-08-06  I've always got a few Hoegaarden's in my fridge - it is probably my favorite beer for summer!

are belgian "wit biere" white beers similar to bavarian weißbier? I've never had any belgian white beers, but I very much enjoy wheat beer. It seems like belgian white beers are easier to find in the states than bavarian wheat beers.

the Belgian Wits are spiced with coriander seed and orange peel - quite a different beast. Both are awesome in warm weather, though.
A nice, if somewhat heavy-handed, American version is Victory's Golden Monkey. Sporting more coriander than the Stage Deli's pastrami, it's the poor man's Duvel.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Keeping with the beer theme, and given the particular day, today's ION (one of many) is a Corona in the lovely MGM Grand Resort & Casino:

Unfortunately, both of my camera's batteries are dead, so, like a teenage girl, I've had to resort to using the awful camera on my Motorola RAZR©®TM.

Hoegaarden Wit Bier that is something special which only Hoegaarden can make!
The problem now is the factory has been taken over by some new owner who wants to remove production to countries where people earn less per /hour rate.
The Hoegaarden community is offcourse protesting heavily against this. because they are very proud to have this beer Even the first true owner and inventor of Hoegaarden very old age now showed his first brewery machines all in dust. but could still work..if needed to be. He said if I was younger Id never let this happen and would brew on..
Will see if Hoegaarden will stay Hoegaarden ....

Fischer Amber Ale. I'm quite a fan of the alsatian reds. mmmm...elsäßisches Bier, das immer so lecker ist. I am always humored how all the alsatian beers have very german names and always just have "bière d'Alsace" on the labels.

I have something to drink for later tonight, when I'll bust out the new DVDs and have a Firefly marathon with the family. I got them hooked on this show.
