Hi All,

Just wanted to show off some photos I took yesterday (July 13) in Washington DC. This brief set features several from Arlington Ntl. Cemetery (I'm a bit of a cemetery junkie) and sites along the mall. This was my first time in DC, and it was definitely worth the trip. I saw much more than what these pictures show, but I didn't want to bring my camera everywhere, especially since it was threatening rain last night. Plus, I can't believe how many people don't realize what bad form it is to take photos in an art gallery.

Anyway... let me know what you think

Please contact me if anyone would like the full size (3872x2592) images for anything.

Some nice photos there.

The one that has the "thing" in the background that you don't know what it is, is the fairly new Air Force monument. It is representative of jets breaking out of a formation that they do at air shows.

If memory serves me correctly, isn't the Arlington cemetery on land once owned by General Robert E. Lee?

Nice pics. I was there a few weeks ago, and thought the new WWII memorial was nice.

Yes, the Lee-Eustis estate was seized by the Union at the outset of the civil war and converted to a cemetery at that time.

You woluld like to stop by The Iwo Jima memorial, off Rte 50 in Arlington, VA. Every Tuesday around 17:00 during the summer the Marines do The Silent Drill; I love to watch it every time I can, it sents chills thruogh my spine. God bless America. Marco
