Anybody know if there are any regulations or restrictions regarding shipping liquids via USPS?
As long as they are not flammable, carbonated or under pressure, are liquids ok to mail?
Shipping out some method shaving products to a B&Ber tomorrow and just want to be prepared and avoid any suprises tomorrow.
Woud I be better of w/ FedEx/UPS?

Be aware that the postal clerk will ask you whether you are mailing liquids.
The USPS has a nifty little item on their web site called the Domestic Mail Manual (http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/dmm300_landing.htm) which contains all that you didn't know you needed to know about mailing stuff. Your question is addresses at this link: http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/601.htm#wp1064775
(That should keep 'em busy for the rest of the week reading it)

I know, I remember them always asking that when you mail a package, never had to say "yes" until now. Just wanted to be prepared. I was looking on the USPS website but couldn't find the info. I realized it would probably be easier to get the info here - and I was right
thanks again fellas:thumbup1:

I recently asked a USPS postal clerk about mailing liquids. He said that they ask to ensure it's properly packed. Properly packed means that it won't leak even if handled roughly. If it leaks, they'll toss it, without further examination. I have sucessfully shipped liquids using USPS by:
1. taping the bottle cap on, so the spray button cannot be depressed.
2. wrapping the bottle with bubble wrap, and taping it.
3. packing the wrapped bottle in plastic peanuts in a secure cardboard box.
I've described this procedure to the USPS clerks when I mail my package and they like it. If they know it's liquid and properly packed, they'll put a "Fragile" sticker on the box.
Good luck,
jim
