Hi
There are great forums and review sections for after-shaves but no separate sections for pre-shave oils, creams, scrubs, techniques etc. I know this information is on the B&B site, but wondered if there is a reason for this, and if not...?

Sorry, originally posted this in the wrong place. Read some other posts on the site feedback (hadn't noticed that before) re additional forums and I understand your reluctance to increase the number. For your consideration - make the Aftershave forum and review Preshave / Aftershave?

Jeremy,
I moved your thread. No worries about it being posted in the wrong place. Why not forums for these items? Basically, if we had a forum for each item, we would have too many forums to sort through. While we are always happy to entertain ideas from members, adding the number of forums that are requested would probably result in 30+ forums. A forum for Limes shaving cream. A forum for Derby blades. A forum for Gillette Super Speeds, etc. We have to draw the line somewhere. For example, the Method Shaving sub-forum. It was established for those who choose to be Method Shavers. And the participation is very limited. Having a forum for every single aspect of wetshaving would result in too many forums. Hope this helps!

Thanks. Appreciate your response and hard to disagree with your logic. Cheers, Jeremy

Randy,
I know you have to draw the line somewhere. However, we are talking categories. Gillettes and Merkurs both fall into the category of razors, which is conveniently divided into safety razors and straight razors. Pre-shaves do not have a category in the review section. It would make sense to at least have some direction as to the best place to find and post pre-shave reviews. The after shave section makes sense to do double duty as pre/post shave reviews.
This also is not the first time this has come up. Aside from pre-shaves, are there other category orphans that are looking for a home? I think this is the best shave forum on the internet, but there is always room for improvement.
The "Other Shaving Related Goods" category would make sense as well if it were not located under Razors. In fact this would be a good category to have some direction under its title with suggestions for the types of reviews to find here.

Simply put, if we devoted a forum to every item that someone felt deserved it's own category, we could easily have 50+ categories. Yes, we do have to draw the line somewhere, and the line has been drawn. If you really want to understand why, start your own forum, and create all of the categories you want. You will quickly understand the logistics of having too many subjects and the need for dozens of moderators.
