I've been using a '40s Gillette Tech as I work through the sampler pack blades, but it's been coming clearer and clearer that a more aggressive razor might be a good idea. Last night I needed a shave before going to a friend's birthday party, and I switched the blade (a Crystal with 3 shaves on it) from the Tech to my HD and gave it a whirl.
Standard shave routine: wash face, hot washcloth for a bit, lather with Old Spice soap/KMF cream, three-pass shave and a bit of touch-up on my neck, cold water rinse, alum block, another rinse, and some bay rum aftershave. Wow! My best shave since dumping the Norelco electric; perfectly smooth, no irritation, and my face felt great. Now I know what BBS really means!
