How do keep my safety razor looking new?

I just bought a merrkur 34c razor, and a couple weeks later i notice the chrome began to get dusty and started to loose its shine. I finished cleaning it so how keep it so that it stays clean? Should i put any type wax on it or keep it inside a case?

Just keep cleaning every few weeks or get a water softener for your house.

Soap scum comes off easily with dish soap and gentle scrubbing with a toothbrush.

If you run into stubborn soap scum, try a shot of scrubbing bubbles. Rinse it off after a minute or two.

I simply disassemble my razors after every shave, rinse and rub with my thumb under warm water, then dry in a towel.

It's soap residue. An old toothbrush will mostly take care of it in a minute or less.
