I have a question... at what angle do all of you keep the distance between the blade and the adjustable portion of the razor when shaving? Is it better to keep it wide open or leave a smaller gap.
Thanks

Hi Flounder, welcome to B&B. With the vision it all depends on your comfort level. If you are just starting out, I would go with the smaller gap until you master that level. You can open it up as you become more proficient with the razor.

When you open the gap you get more blade exposure. You get a closer shave but if you are not proficient with the razor you also get more cuts and nicks.

You may wish to look at this stand (http://www.classicshaving.com/catalog/item/522941/508512.htm#image_1)as it accommodates a reasonable range of brushes.
