Well lads, can anyone out there spell P R O C R A S T I N A T E? Yes, still working on my contribution to the government.
How about listing your contributions to better living through lather for this week?

This weekend I hit Target and picked up the Proraso tube shaving cream and the pre/post cream (NJ target). Today was my first shave with it. Incredible feeling, but wasn't thrilled with the scent from the pre/post, nor with how it left my face feeling after. Not sure why; seems like lots of folks here like it a lot. Will try again, but the shaving cream is a keeper for me.
After work, plan to pick up Taylor's Mr. Taylor cream and some Baxter's products.
My fiancee is starting to question my sexuality, but she likes the scent of the colognes and the shaving creams.

Just tell her that wet-shaving has swung you back to heterosexuality...

Mscott, just tell your fiance that all this stuff makes you virile. :w00t:
Apparently Barbasol Brushless has been discontinued.... t'is a shame as it smells out of this world superb. This was used by US Soldiers in WWII. Get the last few tubes at QED and other fine retailers while they last!

You are going to freak out when you realize what an awesome brush that is. Give it a week to break in, though.
I've been wanting to try a long handle for a while now. My only other brush has the typical shorter handle and whipping up creams tends to overrun that short handle.
I must say I'm having a hard time waiting until morning to use this brush.
Charles also included a sample of Trumper's Rose, so now I get to compare that to the Taylor's.
Not too bad for a Monday!

Kyle, you're not only the review king...you're the Arko king too!
Scotto, I just whipped up some Trumper's Violet to help get that new brush smell on it's way out. Well, I used my normal amount of cream and in no time my mug, which is pretty big, was erupting lather everywhere!:w00t: Yes, that's right, I'm freaking out!!

I had a chance to stop in today at C.T. Brock & Co., a men's clothier here in Salt Lake City in the Foothill Village. I thought they carried the C&E line. Nope. AOS. So I picked up a bottle of their Shampoo and a BAG full of samples. I spoke with Brock Bennett, who was both helpful and knowledgeable about the products. It was a good experience. Before I left, I got a "shot" of Bond #9 cologne...I don't see where all the hype is on that one.

Since I am new to the Arko line and have only used it a few times, I am not yet sure whether or not I am a big fan. Due to the large size of my initial order, I am either a genius or an idiot. It all depends on how much I end up liking the product.

Soooooooooooooooooooo Funny Kyle , couldnt you ask someone to send you out a sample of Arko first I think would be the better way to go. I have a lot of samples from Obsessis , saves me gambleing like you did. I only buy more of a product gambleing if it has to come from far like USA to save on costs.in your case I hope you end up the Genious... thats a shitload of Arko oh im behind now let me buy something to make you feel a bit better bro.  :tongue_sm

I think you own a razor to match every Arko product I bought. It appears that your RAD and my SCAD are equally bad.

As silly as it sounds... pictures do not do this brush justice. No joke.... it looks almost 2X better in person. REALLY a sweet little shaving brush. Looks wise, I think it may be my favorite shaving brush.

If you don't have one..... get a BK4 as well. This thing is the bee's knees! I want to use it..... really.... really.... really bad. I think this will probably be the first brush in the "line-up" to be used outta the 10!

I am actually a fan of stiffer brushes, so I thought I would try out the BK2 first. My understanding is that they are ~ the same handle, just with different bundles.

If they are.... you are going to be one happy scotto!
First off, I would like to thank the MANY board members whom I have endlessly pestered while searching for my next brush purchase. While I am sure that SBAD will eventually get the better of me and I will purchase one of every brush that has been recommended to me throughout this search, I am very, very pleased with this Shavemac brush. While this particular brush is traditionally offered in a 23mm bristle knot, Bernd was kind enough to make one for me with a 26mm knot.
On to the pics!

Thank you.
I was originally worried by a couple of bad shipping stories that I had heard, but I ordered it Monday, it shipped out on Tuesday, and Arrived today (Friday). That is a pretty impressive journey, all the way from Germany. My hat is off to Bernd (and soon my whiskers will follow).:001_smile
Excellent score brother Kyle.
Shave well. Nothing like a great acquisition on a Friday--you've got all week-end to break it in.

Wow I had to pick myself up from the floor after seeing the pics of that Brush.
 :w00t:
thats one amazing super cool pic and you got a bigger custom made knot size even more incredible. does it cost much more ? between 23 to 26mm ? thats quite good service and craftmanship but then Germans know how to make things. Mercedes Benz, BMW, Steinway piano, Bechstein Piano , Brat Wurst, Beer ? not so sure on the beer all I know is they drink loads of it , and their bread is famous breakfast buns nice and hard excellent with cheese and meat.
Still Im going for a BK8 of Kent havent ordered yet negotiations are done its just I have to figure out which brush Stand of Kent id like to go with. but like you im sure ill end up with a shavemac sometime in my shaveing career..yes its a career for me.  :thumbup1:

The increase in price was around $20, which I believe to be extremely fair. This still left the brush cheaper than his other 26mm models.

Very nice brushes. Love the shape of that Kent, and the tortoise handle on the Shavemac. Bernd's packaging may leave a little to be desired, but the brush more than makes up for it.
