Don't ask me why, but I was curious to find metaphors involving shaving.

Other than the standards out there ("that was a close shave" or "next we started Yak Shaving (http://jargon.watson-net.com/jargon.asp?w=yak+shaving)") I was wondering what others people have heard of out there.

I’m not sure if you would want to include it with a lit of metaphors but the topic brings to mind the song “Tougher than it is” by Cake (http://www.cakemusic.com/) (from the Pressure Chief album): “Well, the more you try to shave the cat, the more the thing will bite and scratch”.

I guess you could think of including “there is more than one way to shave a cat” (a slightly less barbaric and less common version of “more than one way to skin a cat”, I expect).

Yeah, I've also heard, "Go shave your back" and "Go shave your ass" as insults
