Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I figured I'd drop in to say hello. I've been using cartridge shavers all my life and I decided that I just can't get enough precision or comfort from the things. Irritation, ingrown hairs/PFB, etc. along with a lack of a certain kind of fun that I like to have in things I do.
So after looking around on the internet a bit, I stumbled upon (not with the toolbar) this site. Wow, what a nice place. I've been learning left and right. Still trying to figure out what I want to do for my kit, but I'll get there some time soon.
Cheers,
Jesse

Welcome...if you need any tips on hardware or products just ask. Just be warned that everything will be recommended so you can't really go wrong with whatever you get.

If you haven't already done so, take a look at this post (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=71700). It provides an excellent road map to your shaving needs.

Edwin jagger 89 series DE or Merkur 34c are the 2 most common razors recommended usually. ( I personaly prefer to use/recommend the EJ 89L razor )
(
Definitely get yourself a blade sampler pack, (I would purchase my razor and brush from a vendor that offers those, as to save on shipping)
A good cheap soap from Rite aid is Vander hagen, and I still use it to make my uberlathers, I find it a good bargin and available locally, usually.
Good luck on your journey, and let us know how u progress and what u end up purchasing, especially with pictures of the stuff!
