I know things got a little Morse, binary, hex, whatever toward the end of the thread but I'd love to know if there is an update that won't get everyone's ink in a splash?:thumbup::thumbup:
IT'S HERE!!!
http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/240822-Badger-and-Blade-Ink-.....Sales-announcement
I spoke with all the parties involved just today- We should be having an announcement shortly. The samples of ink have been tested and approved so we are just finalizing the artwork and manufacturing details.
There will be plenty of notice and more detail as they become available.

Guys from B&B buy a new pen in anticipation of the private stock ink? Say it ain't so. :001_rolle

I'm glad to hear that this ink is close to fruition, especially given how busy Mr. Tardiff has been trying to meet the high demands on the Noodler's flex pens. I must admit that I've been eyeing a vintage Sheaffer for the occasion. :whistling:

Thought I saw in another thread that the samples of the B&B ink were well received. Didn't know if we would at least get a shot of some writing using it.
I just got 2 Noodler's piston fill flex nibs waiting for some nice special ink. Also picked up a bottle of Black Swan in Australian Rose. That's a nice ink, and the pens, for $14.00 seem like a great pen. I'll test the one I filled out throughout this week.
I may have to get in on this. Although it's my goal to never use a pen again for the rest of my life, my kid is bugging me for a fountain pen. I haven't the faintest idea where to begin.

I've been on B&B for 2.5 years. My answer to most questions about purchasing are "I'm going to buy more of what I need, and even more of what I want than I could possibly ever use."
So if there are multiple colors, I'm sure I'd get more. But I'd rather the first B&B ink be in only a single color. Makes it more special that way.

They are light, but I like them. They are my first flex nib's, so they take a bit of getting used to. Brian Goulet has good videos on youtube on how you can adjust the nib to get different results from the pen. You can also see the videos from his website on the order page for the pen.

Most of the fast dry inks feather pretty badly(one of the characteristics of fast dry is they absorb into the paper more readily, obvious catch-22 situation feather vs fast drying)
Being a lefty I would not recommend using clairefontaine paper, it's great stuff, but very dense and slick so many inks dry pretty slowly in the stuff. Not a good thing if you are a southpaw.

Ouch, Goulet Pens (http://www.gouletpens.com/) offers ink samples. You can order samples for any of the inks they carry, which should give you some idea of which inks will work best for you.
From my personal ink reviews, I've got some that seem to dry relatively quickly. From the most recent ink drop, Sailor Jentle "Sky High" and Private Reserve "Midnight Blues" (a fast-dry ink) both dried quickly. Both were pretty well behaved inks all around. Midnight Blues was low on feathering and bleedthrough, but unfortunately I didn't like the color a ton. From my personal cache, Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire dried quickly but I don't feel that it flows particularly well in my pens. Mont Blanc Royal Blue took a little bit longer to dry, but still worked decently. I feel that it's a nicer color than Edelstein Sapphire to boot.
I love the Iroshizuku inks, but they tend to be medium to high on the wetness scale for me. Dry times with them aren't awful for me, but they aren't the best either.
I can tell you which inks I would NOT recommend you use as a lefty, though. I've got an ink from Caran d'Ache which has a lovely color. It sure takes its sweet time to dry, though. Also, I've used a sample of Noodler's X-Feather ink that took FOREVER to dry with me.

Ouch,
I had a lefty here at work try the Noodler's Kung Te-cheng ink and it did not smudge. I also tried a time test on paper and it dried very quickly.
Thanks!

I have Noodler's Cactus Eel and I really like it. It's currently in a Pelikan M215 with an EF nib. The nib was already smooth but now it's even smoother.
I have a bottle of Cactus Eel, but never really cared for the colour, although I like the way it works in my parkers. I ended up mixing it with some Hero washable blue, and a little parker black to make my signature violet colour. Now I get the performance of Eel, with a colour which is less... flamboyant.

I was really surprised by how much I like the color, the performance is nice extra.
I haven't started mixing inks.......... yet.

Yes of course you can still get in when it comes out. Nathan hasn't let the ink flow free yet so were not sure when it will be out but it will be well publicized. The color is either reddish black or black with aqua or both depending on who you talk to, basically it's a closely held secret, heck I'm the steward and even I don't know yet.

That label looks good to me, slap it on and let the ink flow free.

"We are very sorry, but due to a clerical error it seems your ink has been made in a bright orange/yellow hue. We hope this wont be an issue, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Your 5000 bottles have been dispatched, and will be with you in due course."

What's the deal? Has Ouch's daughter got those labels ready yet or what? I have half a jar of rubber cement that I'd be willing to chip in. I think it would do a great job of sticking the labels onto bottles.

subscribing in hope of future updates. after reading through 5+ pages of increasingly inane posts, i'm becoming more worried that this thread will also be scrapped after going the way of the previous one... can i hope to hear future updates here or will yet another thread be started?
perhaps this thread's title can be updated to point us toward a particular post when more news is available?
/rant. sorry for the grumpiness, but reading through post after post in a supposedly informative thread gets annoying for me.

Sorry for all the witty banter while we await the much anticipated special label ink. I have been duly informed that it will be VERY well publicized when it has been decanted. I can hardly wait myself.

You'll only have to read Post number one.
If there's any news, I'll update this thread in Post number 1, fair enough?

What, they have to catch more squid to wring?
