I got that very same razor but it's only in user grade condition. I paid $40-ish for it at an antique store. You got a very beautiful razor for under a hundred dollars. I'd say you did very well!

Thanks! I guess I was lucky and that this razor was offered from germany instead of the US, probably makes a difference as well. I think the seller expected a bit more, given the startbid of $35. Can't wait for it to arrive!

The NEW Deluxe is one of the nicest razors to shave with.

It took a while because of a holiday, but I finally got it. What a beauty!
Shaved with it yesterday, loaded with a NOS Gillette bleue extra. That was a really close shave, glad I didn't use a feather :scared:
I think I need to adjust my angle a bit, but this a very nice razor. The only problem I see is that I might need a user grade version to keep this one mint.

Get a user grade one cheap (be diligent and patient, you'll snag one) and then get that replated in nickel. They are wonderful in nickel!

Great razors, I love my chrome Criterion! Speaking of nickel, I have couple going to Bob soon and can't wait to see one planted on his mastiff deluxe handle.

Nice razor! I bought what looks to be that same razor at peddler's mall for $10. I mean not as nice and no box. I have shaved with it also and it shaves really nice. Heavy in the hand so the razor does the work and you don't have to use any pressure.

Patience? ;-) Allready found a bar handled new deluxe for a good price. A nickel replate is a good suggestion!

Wouldn't be on the blade holder. It would be on the top of the guard plate under the cap.

the NEW De Luxe comes only from Oct 16 1930 to Feb 1931 with serial numbers. without serial numbers the DeLuxe comes 1935/36.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I used this razor again this morning and it seems we're getting used to each other. What a fantastic piece of kit!
