Ambrose Barber Strop De Caballo - Treated Horse Hide
http://i773.photobucket.com/albums/yy20/ambroseshave/horsehide.jpg

Ive got a new stock of Horse Hide & Latigo!

Cost is only $69 With Free Shipping Through Next Friday!

This is for my big one piece luxurious strop size known as Clásico

Solid D Rings are avaliable for handles.

I have two kinds of treatments for horse hide.

1. Soft Touch Horse Hide
Dry treatment, leather is soft like velvet or suede

2. Treated Horse Hide
Treated with pure leather oils, leather is extra tight and "harder" on the surface. To me it feels similar to an old shell strop.

As usual I am open to any questions to anyone for further help if needed.

Thank you guys for your support I appreciate it greatly. :thumbup1:

Very nice... love the look of the surface on the horsehide! :thumbup1:

BTW people, if Jose still has some De Oro left, snap it up while you can.... very nice tight grain and it breaks in beautifully. Perfect draw and really performs as well as the legendary Spanish Horse.

I am a long way from home & after a couple of emails back and forth and Jose' has 1 less De Oro at http://www.ambroseshave.com/strops.html.

I also ordered and received his "instructional". It will be awhile before I try his technique though.

Great doing business with him!

Just to be sure, is the 69$ price for the Latigo or the horse hide? Thanks!

Yes that is correct either leather big daddy Clásico size, natural cotton canvas linen is standard.

Ambrose, do you have a photo of a whole latigo strop? The artsy one is nice, but a full frontal would be appreciated. ;-)

How would I know which of the two horse hides to pick?

What are the dimensions of the strop?

I have a latigo leather strop. Would I like a horse hide strop better?

Probably preferences vary with the individual, but I really don't know if I'd like a horse hide strop.

Jose's soft touch horsehide is currently my favorite strop. It's got a quick, light draw with a unique feedback.

Jose - you sent me the instructional and the video like what, like three days go or something right? Check this out - I skimmed/read through it once, watched the video once - and what I picked up took about 1/3 - 1/2 the time off my bevel setting. Seriously - thank you for treating the subject with a no-frills no b/s touch too.. you got right to the meat of (what I think) was my major issue.
Tonight I set bevels on two razors tonight in record time. Amazing...
Can't wait for the HH strop to show up too! !!
