I just had a friend restore the knot in an old spice brush of mine with a TGN Bristle knot. Thanks WillyB, you rock bro! The knot looks great but, dang! I could scrub paint off with this thing! It's very stiff and scratchy.
Is there a technique, like soaking or something to loosen this bad boy up before I attempt to use it and take off part of my face?
Thanks guys!
Oh, and because we are all pic nuts around here, this is it(and my collection too!):

I have one and it softened up nicely. Palm lather it every morning or evening along with your shave. It wnt take long.

A new boar can use a really long soak in hot water before using each time-a good 5 min at least. You can also try lathering with a good moisturizing soap or cream and let sit a few hours, then rinse carefully and then use a good hair conditioner. Overall, nothing beats patience and use!

J,
so when you said "willy when you are done with the restoration I would like you to dip the brush in gorilla glue" you were joking? Oh crap, my bad bro.......

I have been known to scrub clean sinks with a lathered boar to break her in quickly though nothing is overnight.
