Hello all, I recently acquired a few SE razors and was wondering where you all get your blades from. I know walgreens has them for around five dollars but I'm looking more into buying 100 at a time. It just seems every search I do comes up with blades meant for industrial purposes only. So where might I find the proper blades I need, and for those of you crazy enough to try them, how well did the industrial blades shave?

These are the GEM stainless steel PTFE-coated blades that many of us just purchased in the recent group buy, sold in lots of 200 at Ted Pella. They're shaving me very well!

Other, more experienced SE shavers are likely to join in with advisories. I've heard about other options (such as ordering from personna.com and alice.com) in previous posts.

You can also order them from www.emsdiasum.com

So again on these sites I see the blades labeled for industrial use. Do these blades work as well as the GEMs that they sell at Walgreens marketed for shaving?

Yes. They are made by American Safety Razor/Personna, the same company that makes the Walgreens blades. They have been purchased by hundreds of guys here as part of the group buys and also in individual purchases direct from Ted Pella or EMS. There's also a couple of the vendors registered here that sell the same blades.

The ones being linked to are. They're made for the medical industry. RazorBladesAndMore carries SE blades in bulk as well.

I wouldn't buy any "industrial use only" blade as many are, well, not adequate for shaving.

I'm about to post on my closest, most comfortable shave since starting my DE/SE addiction. I owe some thanks to you for mentioning the Treet blades in several of your post.

Do you have a source for those in bulk? (they're much beter shaving blades imho)

I use the treet blades from Rite-Aid and CVS. The CVS blades are cheaper if I remember correctly and are the same blade.

FYI - I've not used them, but people I trust on these forums have offered negative opinions of the Pal SE blades. You might want to buy blades from CVS, Rite-Aid or Walgreens instead, if you decide to give SE a try.

Good advice. Don't base your opinion of SE shaving on Pal blades.

Hi,

Is that, 'Item Number 121-3'? I'll be honest, I've got several SE razors and really like them but, I'm almost afraid to purchase SE blades from one of the several sources mentioned as I worry I'll get the wrong item and either somehow mysteriously harm myself or simply be stuck with grabby industrial blades that I can't use for shaving.

I'm also ignorant of the other items on the Ted Pella website page that has the Item 121-3. Some people say the PAL blades aren't good, I don't know. I kinda' like that plastic saftey box they have but I don't see it offered with the 121-3 blades.

Has anyone tried the Dorco DN52 blades offered on Razor Blades and More?

Please, doe's anyone have any other specific SE blade suggestions for a personal bulk purchase - including web-page and item number? Honest, when I get to a page of SE blades it's all a dangerous sort of Greek to me.

Thank you all for your information. I'm lost when it come's to SE blades and would probably only know a bad one if it bit me. Seriously, is the only bad thing that can happen with a bad SE blade is a bad shave (and then I'll know those blades aren't good for my SE shave)? I mean, there's no weird biological infection that will set in from a bad blade, right? The blades shouldn't have any infectious germs crawling on them that blades made for shaving wouldn't have. Right? Oh, geeze, I don't know anything.

Thank you all for your information and help! I appreciate it all very much!

Sincerely,

Joe

I picked up some Treets from ASR at Rite Aid. I got a nice shave with one this morning in a G-Bar.

Joe, yes, 121-3 is the correct item, with the Ted Pella picture linked below:

Hello man00ver,

Thank you for your reply. Ok, at least I have one option now for a quantity buy! Thank you, again!

Please, if anyone else has information on where quantity SE shaving blades can be had I'd appreciate hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Joe
