That's the dumbest thing I've seen in a while! I wonder what the top bidders were smoking when they submitted their bids??!!:shocked:

Great, finally someone has some of these.
Now I am going to keep checking the Razor Blade Reviews section to find out what the buyer thinks after shaving with them:w00t:

Yeah, no kidding.
I was watching last night when that auction ended and I just couldn't believe what those blades sold for. Unbelieveable!

I don't get it. What's with that price? There's something I am totally missing about those Winchesters. Is it because they are "Winchester" products? Or because they are "Swedish Steel"...or both?

Some collector probably. I doubt those will ever be used. I am sure that "Winchester" had a lot ot do with it, and that increased the audiance to all the gun collectors out there (which is probably a much larger group than vintage wet shavers)

Yes, it would be the Winchester gun collectors. Very rare item, full boxes, not actual gun-related items, but that branding is enough to make the loonies come out. This would be a 'curio' for display in a collection.
It's almost like us buying a Gillette-branded die-cast truck or belt buckle to add to our collections. Not a shaving item, but shaving-related.

Yeah, I'm guessing that we're missing something here regarding Winchester collectibles.
Probably someone on a gun collector forum saying that they're a "must have".
Hey, I bought these blades so I'd appreciate you not calling me an idiot or a loon.
They are very old. Plus they have 3 holes. Plus they are FINEST Swedish steel. Plus they will work with old Gillette razors.
Just kidding. :tongue_sm

You are. Vintage Winchester branded blades are EXTREMELY scarce and almost NEVER are seen. Advanced Winchester collectors ( I have seen Winchester collections in private gands worth well over a million dollars) look for scarce items like that to enhance the value of their collections. Those blades were a bargain to the right bidder
If I saw a set of Webley blades on auction I would be shaking:scared:...and my collection doesnt even compare to some of the collections I have seen. One of my buddies is working on one each of every Colt 1911 variation ever made.
Im sure over on the Winchester forums they giggle about $100 Fat Boys
