Picked up some GEM blades at Wal Greens, came home and loaded the micromatic! Very nice shave! Not as great as my sledgehammer but on par with my Merkur straight bar! I enjoyed the SE shave!

The following are the blades I ordered from emsadasium. Not very good...in fact they are terrible! I'm set for life on paint / window sticker scrapers!

I really blame myself for not being sure of what I should have ordered. With the help of you fine gentlemen and Wal Greens, the issue has been resolved!

I find the Walgreens blades just fine. Tomorrow your shave will be better yet.

That's great! Another B&Ber discovers SE shaving.:thumbup1:
Just to confuse you a little, if you like it well enough to make a bulk buy practical, there really are some blades marked "industrial use only" that are suitable for shaving. The things to look for are stainless steel, PFTE coated, .009 inch, and the GEM brand on them. I think even EMS, who sold you your utility blades, may have them, so does Razor Blades and More, and I'm told that Ted Pella does. I got a large quantity a while back from an Amazon seller who no longer carries them. If you don't mind ordering one or two hundred at a time, you can save money per blade.
Also keep an eye out on the blades forum for somebody organizing a group buy. I've never taken part in one of these, but they seem like a good idea.

Good, glad you found some that worked. The ones you got from emsdiasum are thicker than the ones designed for shaving. Might be worthwhile to contact them and see if they'll take them back.

It looks like you got the "regular" carbon SE blades, based on the part #. What you want is the "extra keen", which are good shaving blades. Or better still the Single Edge, GEM "PTFE" Coatedpart # 71970 or 71971.
