My old man "squirrels away" everything and anything that he thinks might be worth something someday. "You never know", is his favorite saying when we question him. He got rid of all of his wet shaving gear long before I could stop him though!

"Look at this [holds up a silver pocket watch]: it's worthless. Ten dollars from a vendor in the street. But I take it, I bury it in the sand for a thousand years, it becomes priceless! Like the Ark. Men will kill for it; men like you and me."

I can think of no better prophylactic than telling your wife you won that auction.

Really any old product. I mean if you could go back to 1900 and buy any item off the shelf in a store and do whatever you needed to do to keep it in mint condition for 111 years and then put it on E-bay today, man you'd have yourself an absolute fortune. Even more recent stuff.

If you had lots of money in 1965 and bought corvettes, mustangs, etc. etc. all these muscle cars and took the steps to maintain them in solid working order and put them into storage until today, my goodness, I'm not sure what say a brand new condition 1960's corvette would sell for.
