I just recieved an e-mail from C&E saying that new shaving brushes were in. In the middle of the message, they namedropped B&B!

Seems that B&B is finally getting some more recognition for the unique and helpful community it fosters.

That being said, they do have some new brushes, and unfortunately it looks like the prices on the best badger brushes have jumped to $65 USD.

Too bad they didn't do some actual research on the new brushes with us.

Andrew,
Please don't hold your breathe! Or you will be blue..
I spoke with C&E a day or so ago.. There are to be some additional brushes added to the site as they become available. One unfortunate thing is that there are NO DEs in any of the kits. I was dying to order that lovely Italian leather travel kit, BUT....:closedeye

Sure they mention us, but then they get rid of the $35 C&E recommended brush by B&B members.

While its great for C&E to mention B&B, I have a real concern about them sending people to B&B where there's lots of raves about the OLD $35 brush at the same time as they change the quality of the brush, but not the price point or basic design.

I think we might want to post something in the review of the C&E brush in the reviews section that clearly indicates that the reviews/comments are for the old brush and that the new brush appears to have an inferior grade of hair - until such time as someone reviews the new version.

This would probably be a very good idea.

Yeah. It will be kinda funny if a bunch of their email recipients come here, and find out that the brush we loved from C&E was just discontinued, with the new brush lineup they were advertising in the very email that pointed to us. Ironic.

As Mo pointed out, it is pretty ironic. Especially when people get other recommendations now.

Despite the changes in badger hair, I think it's a positive testament to the fine gents that populate our community. Bravo!

How un-timely. :sneaky2:

I was just finishing up a video that mentioned the "old" C&E brush and I had to go back and re-do it at the last minute:

Maybe the B&B fan at C&E would be willing to do a vendor interview?

Good idea. We'll add that to our list of potential interviews.

As I mentioned in the initial thread regarding the new C&E Brushes, I am suspicious. I own one of the now "Old" C&E Best Brushes, and paid $35 for it. True, it was a great first brush that didn't break the bank.

However, I view this issue much differently. Let's be honest here, there are TONS of brushes out there. C&E's decision hurts C&E, and not B&B. Their new brush is priced in the same range as Shavemac's Handmade Finest Grade brushes. If you had $65, which brush would YOU choose? Enough said.

I am flattered that C&E has mentioned this forum in their recent distribution e-mail.

Now you are talking. I think that we would give a pretty solid review if given the chance; Endorsed by the Badger and Blade :001_tongu
