Contrasting pairs - pics please

So I have this dream of getting a pair of razors with contrasting scale colours as a boxed set.
Had always thought of ebony and ivory but having seen Bladerunner's recent acquisition of an orange and green pair in G10, that feels positively bland.

So anyone else got pictures of a matched pair in contrasting colours or brilliant ideas of what would work ? I am looking at a rescaling a pair of new TI Evide Sonnant, when my ship comes in, or a pair of old Bengals that I currently own.

I did a couple of 5/8ths with matching style scales but contrasting materials, I really liked the idea of it and am working on more intricate patterns along the same lines, I think they pair up nicely.

Unfortunately they are now split up the Kropp has gone to Germany, however the Britain is my bread and butter razor.

A really nice idea I saw was a long time ago, where you get two lots of contrasting wood, stack them together and cut a wavy or straight line etc along the length of it, then glue the alternate pairs together so one set of scales the top half is a dark wood and light on the bottom, the other is light on top and dark underneath.

I had Max rescale a pair of Weltmeisters in Wenge. Here is one, although the wood does not really show up in the photo.

That's great John - see you have the Dovo case I have been eyeing as well :001_smile

I rather like the Dovo hard case. The Friodurs and the Weltmeisters both will fit, but anything longer and you would have to angle them to get the case to close. I think the case anticipates a 5/8ths razor and the Friodurs and Weltmeisters are 13/16ths, so its tight.

Ooo :w00t: , some cool sets thus far. I don't have any pairs yet but I am subing. These should be cool to see.

I seem to recall (maybe I just imagined it) seeing a set someone had that had a "mirrored" pair where the scales on each razor were a different color on each side. Even if I did dream this up I think it would be neat to make/have made someday.

those are interesting... i am enjoying that they are way different then the old style rounded horn and plastic on vintages. very contemporary...
