I'm a big fan of Di Saronno; I'll go so far as to say it sets the standard. They've had a lot of ads the last few years. . . usually I stay away from those types of products -pay for the hype perhaps more so than quality- but, with Di Saronno I make an exception.
I've had a few others: Gozio, Luxardo and a couple of the lesser-quality ones.
Are there any others out there that you'd recommend?
edit: or, any similar situated liqueurs you'd recommend?

I've used the DiSaronno stuff before, worked great. I don't know that there is much difference between brands, though. Often times I will go for my bottle of creme de noyaux if I'm out of proper amaretto and the drinks taste fine.
If I have a sweet tooth or am making a drink for someone who likes drinks that don't taste like alcohol I will mix up an amaretto sour, very tasty. Amaretto is also nice added to espresso. Mmm.

oh heck yes it is!
If you ever do cap's: i used to froth 'regular' milk; it was quite tasty. then I randomly came across the lactose free milk (when consuming that milk in any manner, the box suggests you shake it). . . . shake the snot out of it for a good 30 seconds, then pour in. . . IMO tastes even better than properly frothed milk; it adds both a smooth and creamy texture (and is usually the same or less fat / calories as regular milk)
I like just pouring a few ounces of amaretto in a glass, sometimes over ice, and just sipping it. When it stands alone, there is definitely a pronounced difference from one to the next. Some are sweeter, some are more cherry-esque, and some are just...yuck.

Ameretto di Amore is quite good, but alas I also prefer the Disaronno.

Di Amore is my preffered Amaretto, I also quite like their Sambuca, but that i suppose is a whole 'nother thread

I do like some good Amaretto on occasion. I prefer Di Saronno to De Amore. Di Saronno seems a tad less cloyingly sweet.
I prefer to drink it in Godfathers. 1 part Bourbon to 1 part Amaretto. Most any whisk(e)y will work though.
Edit; Totally forgot about a favorite drink of the past. The Stone Sour. Whiskey/Amaretto/Orange Juice/Sour Mix/Maraschino cherry. Amazing!!!!
