Hey guys! I am new to the forum. I just scored 2 Henckels #72 straight razors for pretty cheap. It looks like they have the original celluloid scales with the "twins" logo. An interesting patina has formed on the twins and on the stabilizing pins.
I think that restored, these would be nice razors. Right now the blades are a bit rough and the scales have been through the war. I am reading up and watching videos on how to begin to restore these puppies. But any quick advice about polishing/honing or especially, how to begin to restore those scales would be helpful.
Before these pictures they got only a light polishing from a powder used to polish Japanese swords. They need a lot more work than that of course... :biggrin1:
I am currently living in Tokyo, Japan. I haven't seen many stores out here that sell or restore straights (a few sell cheap straights).
