I have been a very loyal fan of the Merkur HD for quite a log time. I've tried several but kept coming back to the HD, I only wished the handle was a little longer. A month or so back I bought the 23-C with the long handle. I loved the shave but it seemed kinda light weight. A couple of weeks ago I bought my third Feather SS DE. Like the rest i've bought it is a work of art but I still can't the close shave I like. So I got to wondering, will the handles swap out? Shure enough they do. Tried it the last couple of mornings and WOW, a heavy long handle razor with the smoothness of the HD. So now the 23-C has the Feather handle and the Feather head is on the 23-C handle. This combo could retire my entire stock of razors and become the one "lifetime razor". It may look funny, a chrome head and satin stainless handle but it works.

You DO know this won't stop you from buying more razors right?
Just don't want you to think that the sickness has actually been cured...

What you've got yourself there is a Frankenrazor. You should post a pic.

I'm surprised you didn't try for the 38C, the Barber Pole version of the HD.

That's what I thought. I use one razor almost exclusively (Stahly/Bull Mastiff Deluxe), but that didn't stop me from buying a Muhle R89 the other week.
OP: Post in a year about your faithfulness to your new-found true love.... :-)
