hahahah thats hilarious.

With all the different conuntries here I was hoping to find some DE blades in one of the BX's (base exchange for you non-mil types...basically a mini store with all you need) but no luck.

I did see a banged up old straight at a bazaar in Kyrgyzstan that i almost picked up. The scales werent too bad but the blade was in rough shape. Im sure someone could have gotten some life out of it but it was a little warped, mis shaped and roughed up.

Welcome!
I'm sure in 6 months you'll find something of interest.
DE is popular on that side of the world.

Not in Kandahar, but I'm down in Leatherneck/Bastion, hoping to get started DE shaving soon.

No, kidding. I'm in Balad, Iraq, and you should see the looks I get at the sink with my shaving gear. I really wish I was a colonel or something so I could have a shower in my room.

To you Gentlemen at the Front, thank you for your service. Almost-30-year man here (including reserve time) so I appreciate the sacrifices you all are going through. I had 10 years of deployments :tongue_sm

If there is ANYTHING we can get you, I don't think there should be issues with dropping a Unit address in the forum (Mods?). Feel free to PM me if there are issues. By "anything" I don't just mean shaving gear, I mean general toiletries, periodicals, tools, gedunk, whatever.

Anything you are short on - give us a shout. Somebody on these boards ought to be able to "hook you up".

I'll second that. I've got some some shaving stuff I'd be happy to send, and tons of magazines--New Yorkers, Nat Geos, Discover...

Hey Gentlemen,

Have you all seen "Marine Dad's" PIF (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=3055946#post3055946)? It has a lot of DE gear:

I was stationed at Leatherneck. That place had a lot of expansions and construction going on before I left. They were building something next to the PEBs/hardstands that didn't get finished. Did they ever finish that? I heard it was going to be a second PX.

Not in Kandahar, but I'm down in Leatherneck/Bastion, hoping to get started DE shaving soon.

When I was there, I ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon and had my wife send things using the USPS APO/FPO flat-rate box. You could always go that route if you're running out of shaving supplies.

Six months of smelling the poo-poo pond?! Being downwind of that open sewage reservoir almost made me vomit when I got on ground. I hated that place. It seemed so much dustier than Leatherneck and the layout and organization of the buildings and roads are horrible.

One place that was really nice was Bagram. It was nice and cool when I went there in the spring. Shindand is nice too. It was a nice break seeing some green vegetation after being surrounded desert for months on end.
