The combination is lovely, but I prefer to combine QED Sandalwood SS with Tabac SS over the C&E. I'll be honest in saying that Tabac by itself is taking some time to grow on me, but when mixed it really adds some nice deep notes!

I have been craving a good limes day for about a week now but I was on the road without access to the CF and QED. Thankfully, as always, the combination of those two products did not leave me wanting. Instead they delivered a rich, delicious bouquet of lime scent and shaving closeness that has me BBS and happy! The Proraso products worked very well as a closer to this fine, fine shave. :w00t:

Nice comfy shave. I harnessed the straight's ability to not jam up with stubble and the DE's maneuverability. I'm toying with the idea of a beard or some variant, but got impatient.

Having spent the past week using what I had thought to be my foolproof set-up – Progress, IP, Musgo Real SC – I had to take day off to heal the soreness brought on by Overshaving (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=20269). So I began anew with an extra day's stubble and a hitherto untried combination:

Merkur HD + Gillette Bleue Extra (and the trusty Speick SC)

The result was more than satisfactory; a smooth face and the AS barely stung. If nothing else, it proves that you should never write off a blade, as I had been prepared to do with the Bleue Extra after the first couple of attempts.

I let Jenesee pick out my flavor of shave this morning and she requested I go with bay rum. Normally I would go with the full-out heavy bay rum (St. John's Bay, QED Soap & Pinaud Bay Rum) but decided that this morning was the sort of day that called for a celebration of the lighter citrus side of a bay rum shave. The Mama Bear soap did not disappoint me (and it never has while I have had this puck) and the Proraso did not mask any of the scent. The EdC from SCS remains a favorite of mine.

This was my first attempt at using the Artist Club razor. I decided to use it as a "clean-up" razor today.
I used the merkur for a 2-pass shave then used the AC to clean-up any remaining stubble.

Very nice shave today. Don't know how long it will take before I use the AC for a full shave but I like the razor.

My problem may be with finding a way to shave the right side of my face. I haven't figured out how to shave this side of my face with the AC.
This is my first attempt to shave with anything other than a DE (or cartridge), so this may be old hat to you regulat straight razor guys.

Today was my first time ever using an Em's Place product and I'm rather quite underwhelmed at this point with her "Minty Menthol" offering. Yes it has a mint smell but where is the menthol?! There was no cool mentholated feeling on my face! :mad:

I should have just stayed in bed an extra 10 minutes. Perhaps I will shave tonight.

The Filly is a huge blade but smooth nevertheless. I dont think I can use a blade this big daily but it was a great experience to try such a fine blade. The Torrey was a smooth shaver for sure. It cut stubble like hot knife thru butter, very nice.

This was also my first experience with Tabac. I have never been able to make good lather with any soap since all of my brushes are too soft. I was able to get good lather, the shave went very good. The scent is a little different but not bad. The Tabac Edt, well, WOW!!!! why did I wait so long to try????? I highly recommend it. Thanks Mike.

I've been on a trip to Malmö the last five days, and this is the shaving kit I used there:

Razor: Feather Portable.
Blade: Derby.
Brush: A no name boar brush with a wooden handle which has it's paint falling off.
Shaving Soap: A pastel green shave stick from Wilkinson Sword.
"After Shave Balm": A moisturizing face cream, "L300".
I got nice shaves from this, albeit not luxurious!

I also bought a bottle of Targol Brand Rosewater (from Iran) for $2 in a shop there, which I used as a toner.

Are they identical with the "Swedes"? Aren't they? Never mind. Point is, I've not done too well with them so far. I've been lucky to get one half-decent shave out of such a blade. And now, two days running, two great shaves, BBS today in 2 1/2 passes. I put this down to the 1.1 oz wonder that is the Aristocrat Junior (admirably supported by Speick SC). – Maybe I'll even try "corking" the blade. If I can afford a bottle of wine that comes with a real cork, that is...

This was my first shave with the injector and I was very pleased with it. I did a three pass shave and the Personna was very comfortable. The blade angle was very easy to figure out. I look forward to shaving with it again today (Sunday)!
